We define ourselves by the care we give to everybody at Ashdale Care. We provide an abundance of training opportunities to all those on the Ashdale Care team. You will have every opportunity to grow in your role, and we reward and recognise hard work and dedication through career progression. Our commitment to transforming lives is the mission our team members contribute to daily, in roles they are fully supported in.
Ashdale Care is a training organisation. We believe that a comprehensive training programme is essential to help our colleagues continue to grow, and to ensure that they are equipped with the knowledge to help and support our young people.
We invest heavily in our induction training in order to equip new staff with the necessary knowledge and skills as they start their career journey with us.
As well as an ever-growing internal training programme, we form partnerships with external organisations – such as Cornell University in the US – to learn from their expertise and help us all to be the best we can be. Ashdale Care pays all staff to undertake training, and offers financial support for external further education including 75% of higher education fees on a case-by-case basis.
Mandatory Training is provided by us. Programmes include First Aid, Children First and Fire Safety. We also provide training in Safe Talk, Assist, Report Writing, Post Crisis Response and Medication Training.
Ashdale Care’s values proposition is based on offering an enhanced service provision. This is exemplified by our commitment to servicewide, specialist training for all staff in CARE, a Cornell University developed programmatic model.
Regular Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) is provided by our in-house certified TCI Trainers. The TCI training consists of a full five days when you first join Ashdale Care and is followed by a one-day refresher course on an annual basis.
There is a clear Progression Pathway here at Ashdale Care, supported by excellent, consistent, internal and external training. We believe in homegrown talent and support our colleagues to progress within the organisation. This progression pathway is open and transparent, and encourages those who want to grow and achieve to do just that, with opportunities to upskill and learn along the way.
Our commitment to personnel and professional growth is so strong we are launching the Ashdale Care Leadership Academy in 2024. The Future Leaders Programme is open to all Social Care Leaders and Deputy Home Managers and our Sustainable Leaders Programme will be open to Home Managers, Regional Managers and Functional Leads based in our National Training Centre.
Not only are our senior employees responsible for the well-being of the young people in our care but also for our new and early career employees. They nurture and support, help with training and upskilling, and act as coaches and mentors, sharing the Ashdale Care ethos and culture with the wider team. However, we recognise that we should all continue to learn new things in order to grow and therefore, our training programmes continue at senior levels too, to include management development programmes.
Many of our senior positions are filled by employees who have progressed within our organisation, but we are always looking for caring, committed and experienced people to join our team.
Similar to the role modelling we expect by our senior team members in their roles, we are also supplementing our Ashdale Care Leadership Academy participants with mentorship, Accountability Partners Learning Buddys and refresher trainings following completion of the programme.
